Full job description

Summary
The 310T Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of licensed mechanics, performing maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This hands-on role will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a fully licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to safety and quality in their work.

Job Duties

Support the diagnosis and repair of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components.
Help perform routine inspections, oil changes, lubrication, and fluid checks on vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards.
Use computerized diagnostic equipment and tools under supervision to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Accurately record maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent on tasks.
Collaborate with experienced mechanics and other team members to ensure the efficient completion of tasks.
Communicate with service manager, lead hand, or peers – Providing them with relevant information and soliciting their help
Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards while ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Learn proper use and care of tools and equipment used for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shop environment
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Enrollment in or intent to enroll in a 310T Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship program.
Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and maneuvering heavy parts.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Basic computer skills for diagnostic tools and record-keeping.
Valid driver’s license (Class G or higher, Class D or AZ is an asset).

Work Conditions

Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses etc.
Overtime as required.
Hazards associated with trade.
Work both indoors and outdoors.

Monday - Friday - 8 hour shift, some overtime and weekends may apply

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$36.00 per hour
