Unregulated Care Provider (Resident Care Attendant)

Crown Ridge Health Care Services Inc. operates Crown Ridge Retirement Home in Trenton, Ontario. Crown Ridge Retirement is home to 71 residents.

Our team is currently hiring a: Part-time Resident Care Attendant

What you can expect to do.

Providing personal care and other services to residents
Responsible for medication administration to residents
Interaction with residents, family members and members of the care team in a professional and respectful manner
Works in a safe manner following health and safety policies, professional standards and policies of the home
Observe and report obvious changes in the environment that may affect the health and safety of the resident
Must understand the basics of good sanitation and techniques to avoid infection or spread of contagious illness and must be aware of routine precautions used for infection control. Follows all PPE practices of the home
Build open and honest relationships with communication
Be passionate and determined
Embrace and drive change
Be aligned with our company values and culture
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and follow all Crown Ridge Healthcare Health & Safety policies, procedures, and legislations
Ability to perform duties in accordance with the Retirement Home Regulatory Act

What you need.

Successful completion of PSW or DSW certification diploma or degree in a related field
Medication Administration course or willing to take
Must be able to read and communicate effectively
Must have effective interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently within time constraints
Must be able to respond to emergency situations
Good communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Vulnerable sector check that is less than 6 months old at the time of hire
TB test steps 1 and 2 proof and 1 step in last 6 months until two step obtained in last year.
