Full job description

We are looking for a genuine, caring, kind, and compassionate individual to become part of a family-led team supporting an incredible individual with autism.

This is more than a job. We are looking for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, creating fun and purposeful experiences, and helping the individual live an active, happy, and fulfilling life.

This position combines hands-on support with leadership and team coordination. Approximately 80% of the role is spent directly working with the individual, while 20% is dedicated to planning, organizing, preparing, and managing the day-to-day support team.

About the Role

Hands-On Support —

You will spend the majority of your time directly supporting the individual and participating in their daily activities, including:

Cooking, baking, and decorating
Arts and crafts
Basketball, soccer, football, tennis, and other sports
Running and outdoor recreation
Swimming
Photography and community outings
Life skills and continued learning
Exploring job sampling opportunities
Building confidence, independence, and meaningful community connections

You will be an active participant—not simply an observer—and will help create positive, engaging, and meaningful experiences each day.

Leadership & Team Coordination —

You will also take an active leadership role in managing the day-to-day operations of the support team.

Responsibilities include:

Planning and organizing daily activities and schedules
Coordinating daily responsibilities
Ensuring team members are prepared and activities run smoothly
Providing direction, support, and guidance to team members
Helping maintain consistency in routines and support strategies
Communicating with the family and other professionals
Preparing materials and resources for activities
Identifying new activities, outings, and opportunities
Helping create a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
Taking responsibility for the overall organization and flow of each day

Experience

At least one year of experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Experience may be professionally or in your personal life. Experience in education, teaching, recreation, behaviour intervention, ECE, management, or similar roles is an asset.

Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.

Qualifications

Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence — required
Standard First Aid with CPR-C — preferred
CRRP clearance — preferred

A comprehensive background and security screening will be completed before employment.

Schedule

We are hiring full-time and part-time team members.

Full-time availability is preferred. Evening, weekend, and Saturday availability is required.
