Forklift Operator / Material Handler – Full-Time Permanent Position
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team at our Caledonia, Ontario distribution center.
In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the efficient movement, handling, and organization of lumber and building materials throughout our facility.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a mix of indoor and outdoor work environments. Successful candidates will operate material-handling equipment, assist with loading and unloading, organize inventory, and help maintain a safe and productive workplace.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience operating forklifts is an asset, but not required — we provide on-site forklift training for the right candidate
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Dependability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn
Preferred qualifications:
- COMBLift experience
- Flatbed truck loading experience
- Previous experience handling lumber and building materials
*Candidates with relevant flatbed truck loading and lumber/building materials experience may be eligible for an additional incentive of up to $3.00 per hour*
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Loading and unloading flatbed trucks and trailers
- Order picking of lumber and related building materials
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Basic English writing skills
- Ability to work overtime when required (overtime pay provided)
Hours:
This position consists of two rotating shifts, one week at a time.
Shift 1 - Monday to Friday - 6:00am to 2:30pm
Shift 2 - Monday to Friday - 9:30am to 6:00pm
Compensation:
- Starting wage $22 per hour, potential to increase after probationary period
- Additional earnings growth potential based on expertise and specialized positions
