Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced In-House Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting our overall accounting functions. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with management in a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced accounting software to ensure financial integrity and compliance. The role will require infrequent site visit and is expected to be 90% work from home.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry and transaction recording
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
Perform account reconciliations for bank statements and general ledger accounts
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting requirements
Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis
Prepare financial reports for management review on a regular basis
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
Experience with payroll processing and related tax filings
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation procedures
Ability to perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation tasks accurately
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external auditors
Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting standards
