Full job description

ATAC LAW is a growing litigation firm in South Burnaby, known for strong client results and a collaborative team environment. We're looking for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to manage litigation files and help lead our administrative team, including mentoring newer LAAs.

You'll work directly with lawyers on active files across a broad range of practice areas, including construction, commercial, administrative, criminal, employment, estate, personal injury, and family law. This is a hands-on role with real ownership over your files, and real interaction with the management of the firm to guide how the admin team runs.

What you'll do:

Manage litigation files from start to finish, tracking deadlines, limitation periods, and court dates
Draft and file legal documents (e.g., Notices of Civil Claim, chambers materials) and arrange service
Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Support lawyers with day-to-day file management and trial preparation
Mentor and help guide other LAAs on the team

What we're looking for:

5+ years of litigation experience in British Columbia
Experience training or mentoring other LAAs, and enthusiasm in continuing to do so
Strong understanding of court procedures and filing requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple files and priorities independently
Comfortable working proactively and using good judgment when priorities compete
