This is an interview position.
To load and unload freight, scan, and sort freight within the facility. To transport freight within and between facilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Performs shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle.
Loads and unloads company vehicles and containers.
Audits size and weight of packages.
Separates packages by service type and destination, in accordance with established procedures.
Scans packages using computerized tracking equipment.
Ensures the use of safety procedures in handling of packages.
Ensures proper security of Federal Express Canada and customer property such as packages, equipment and vehicles.
Cleans, washes and performs minor maintenance to vehicles as necessary.
Conforms to regulations established by local airport authorities.
Operates vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, complying with all government regulations and company procedures.
The incumbent(s) of this position may be expected to pick up and make deliveries on an emergency basis; not to exceed 10% of the time.
The incumbent(s) of this position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.
In the province of Quebec must be bilingual (French and English).
Where required to carry out temperature control functions:
Must be able to perform Air Temperature Control and Carrier Temperature Control Unit troubleshooting on road if necessary adhering to Safety best practices.
Must comply with vehicle pre and post inspection trip inspection and temperature control unit inspection regulations and guidelines at all times.
Must adhere to vehicle operating procedures during the delivery cycle to conserve cargo area temperature and protect the freight (i.e. process for entering/exiting the cargo area)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma/educational equivalent.
Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training.
Must possess a valid, fully unrestricted Class 5/Class G license and have a good driving record.
Some knowledge of Fedex Express Canada operations and Canadian customs regulations an asset.
Ability to lift 70 lbs or maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance from another person.
Good interpersonal skills.
Additional Details: Wage: $21.09 Shift: Monday - Friday 5:15am – 9:00am
