Full job description

Overview

This Rides 4 U Wheelchair Services Ltd. is a locally owned and operated business based in Duncan, B.C. We provide transportation services in the Cowichan Valley and surrounding areas for individuals with disabilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team and support the financial operations of our organization.

Duties

Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software required
Record and monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Reconcile accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Prepare and file GST/PST and other required government remittances.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Maintain organized records of all financial documents for audit purposes

Skills

Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (preffered)
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
Ability to perform account analysis and account reconciliation accurately
Knowledge of payroll processing and related compliance requirements
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and external vendors
High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
