The English program invites applications for Sessional Instructors for the following courses, offered in the Fall 2025 semester.

ENG 111: Literature and Composition I
ENG 101: Literature and Composition for English Language Learners I

Fall semester classes begin August 28th 2026.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chair of the Literature and Language Department, Sessional Instructor’s responsibilities

include:

Preparing and delivering weekly instructional lectures, assignments and examinations relevant to the course taught;
grading assignments and exams;
providing constructive feedback to students;
maintaining regular office hours;
working collegially as a team member with Department and Faculty leadership.

Qualifications:

A Master’s in English is required, a PhD is preferred;
excellent communication skills, both oral and written is required;
demonstrated empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students, is required;
proficiency with Google Email and Apps, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred;
post-secondary teaching effectiveness as demonstrated through student evaluations would be an asset;
experience using a learning management system, such as Moodle, and familiarity with educational technologies, with an aptitude to learn other software as required, would be an asset; and
the ability to pass a clean criminal record check is required.
