Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher

Join the Ashwood Glen Team!

Ashwood Glen School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and caring Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. This role is ideal for an educator who is committed to inspiring a love of the French language while nurturing the curiosity, confidence, and development of young learners.

Working with children in our Early Years program, you will create a warm, engaging, and language-rich environment where French is introduced through meaningful, play-based experiences. You will collaborate closely with our teaching team to deliver high-quality programming that supports children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate French lessons and activities that encourage language acquisition through play, songs, storytelling, movement, games, and hands-on learning.
Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to participate.
Foster children's confidence in speaking and understanding French through daily routines and immersive experiences.
Observe, assess, and document children's learning and development, providing feedback and recommendations as appropriate.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate French learning into the broader educational experience.
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.

Qualifications

Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required.
Experience working with young children in an early learning or educational setting.
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma, Ontario College of Teachers certification, or equivalent educational background is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of child development and early years learning principles.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
A collaborative, positive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
Passion for fostering bilingualism and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children.
