Job Overview: We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Garden & Maintenance Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, a strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to the creation and maintenance of beautiful garden spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks, including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general garden maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planting: Assist in planting a variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants according to design plans.
- Pruning: Trim and prune plants to encourage healthy growth and improve aesthetics.
- Weeding: Regularly remove weeds to maintain the health and appearance of garden beds.
- Mulching: Apply mulch to garden beds to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.
- Watering: Ensure plants receive adequate water, particularly during dry periods.
- Soil Preparation: Prepare soil for planting, including tilling, fertilizing, and amending soil as needed.
- General Maintenance: Perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as deadheading, leaf clearing, and edging.
- Equipment Use: Safely operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with clients to ensure their gardening needs and preferences are met.
- Winter duties: (on call)
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in gardening or landscaping is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and horticultural practices.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality garden maintenance and presentation.
- Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and take direction from supervisors.
- Safety Conscious: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following safety protocols.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required, as our crew members need to drive and be able to reach our location, which is only accessible by car.

This position is full time with an average of 44 hours per week.
