WE ARE SEEKING:

An experienced Bilingual (French/English) Human Resource Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department in support of the organization's overall business objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the HR Manager will provide HR support to departments across Canada and oversee the HR team, including the HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator.

We utilize Hi-tech systems and processes to ensure a simple to use, yet high quality product is produced.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Develop, implement and coordinate policies, procedures, and programs encompassing all aspect of human resources management including recruitment and selection, compensation, performance management, payroll, benefits administration, workers compensation, and training and development.
Work collaboratively with the CEO and senior management team on strategic planning
Ensure companywide compliance with all relevant legislation and employment standards
Oversee the activities of the payroll administrator: weekly payroll processing, journal entries, worker’s compensation accruals and remittances, and year end reconciliations
Develop and update policies, procedures and the employee handbook
Assist management with performance appraisals and salary reviews
Advise and assist management with performance management strategies and implementation
Oversee full cycle recruitment by the HR generalist: placing ads, scheduling interviews, creating job offers, and facilitating the on-boarding process
Maintain and update HR files including e-files and data maintained within HRIS system
Oversee company training initiatives and maintain training records
Develop and maintain the health and safety program
Collaborate with Joint Health and Safety Committee to make recommendations on compliance with regulations and employment standards
Manage all provincial workers compensation board (WSIB, WCB Alberta, WorkSafe BC, CNESST, etc..) claims reporting and return to work program
Handle employee relations issues, including investigations
Support the HR generalist in the planning and organizing of company social functions
Remain up to date on all relevant industry related legislation, best practices, and trends
Other duties as assigned/required

WHAT YOU HAVE:

Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or similar Payroll/HRIS system
Experience in a multi-provincial environment an asset
Experience managing workers compensations claims and return to work programs
Expert in dealing with employment related matters: HR policy compliance, attendance management, disability and return to work procedures, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline
Up to date on all relevant employment legislation
Great attitude, work ethic, and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organized, detail oriented, with excellent time management skills
Able to adapt in a fast paced environment and re-prioritize on a continual basis

QUALFICATIONS:
The incumbent will possess or demonstrate an ability to acquire the following:

Bilingual in French English
CHRP/CHRL Designation
Human resources related degree or diploma
3-5 years progressive HR experience
