We’re growing our production team — and looking for two people who want to grow with us.

We’ve recently added a new piece of equipment to our bakery: a commercial cookie depositor that will help us keep up with the thousands of cookies we make each week. We’re looking for two Bakery Production Assistants who will work together to become the experts on this machine and take ownership of our cookie production process.

This is a new role for us, and we see lots of opportunity for it to evolve. Initially, your primary responsibility will be portioning/depositing our cookie dough, organizing production and learning to operate, troubleshoot and care for the equipment. As you become confident in the role, we’d like to train you to scale and prepare our cookie dough as well, giving you more ownership over the entire cookie production process.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of a two-person afternoon production team, your responsibilities will include:

operating our commercial cookie depositor and becoming an expert in its setup, operation and troubleshooting
Portioning and preparing cookie dough according to our production schedule
Ensuring cookies are produced consistently and efficiently
Organizing, labelling and storing finished production
Eventually learning to scale ingredients and prepare our cookie dough recipes
Keeping your work area clean and organized throughout your shift
Completing assigned bakery cleaning and end-of-day cleaning tasks
Working through a defined daily task list independently and making sure the job gets done

This Role Might Be a Great Fit If You...

Like working independently. You'll have a clear list of responsibilities and need to be comfortable managing your time and keeping yourself on track.
Enjoy mastering equipment and figuring things out. We want you to really learn this machine — not simply push a button.
Are a natural problem solver. If something isn't working quite right, your first instinct is to investigate and figure out why.
Work with purpose and urgency. Bakery production is physical and fast-moving, and maintaining a diligent, consistent pace is important.
Take pride in consistency. Making the 500th cookie as carefully as the first matters to us.
Don't mind getting your hands dirty. This is a hands-on job that includes lifting, moving ingredients and dough, cleaning equipment and cleaning the bakery.
Want an opportunity to grow. We're looking for people who are interested in learning more and taking on additional responsibility over time.

The Physical Side of the Job

This is an active, physical position. You'll spend most of your shift on your feet and will regularly be lifting and moving ingredients, tubs of dough, trays and equipment. You should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and physical work throughout your shift this includes sweeping and moping.

Schedule

We're initially looking for approximately 4–5 shifts per week, around 5 hours per shift.

Shifts will primarily be in the afternoon, starting around 3:00pm, although we have some flexibility and are happy to tailor the start time around the right person's availability where we can.

Because this is a production role, reliable and consistent availability is important.

Where This Role Can Go

We're deliberately hiring this position with growth in mind.

Our first goal is for you to become completely confident running our cookie depositor and managing daily cookie production. From there, we'd like to train you in scaling and mixing cookie dough and continue expanding your bakery production skills and responsibilities.
