Thrive Kids Canada is dedicated to providing safe and engaging out-of-school care where children can thrive through relational mentoring, interaction with nature, and creative opportunities for personal growth. Our programs, including After School Care, Pro-D days, Holiday Camps, and full-day programming, ensure that kids stay active, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships.

Summary

Thrive Kids Canada is looking for Managers to lead the faith focused, nature-based after school care & summer day camps in various locations with a start date to be determined depending on availability.

The Children's Ministry Director will provide spiritual direction and full management of THRIVE nature based Out-of-School Care Program according to the vision, goals and standards set out by THRIVE and Licensing Authority.

They will create bridges and instigate relationship-building opportunities between the church congregation and Thrive families, assisting in programs that bridge Thrive kids and their families to other church ministries. The Children's Ministry Director will also create bridges between the partner church/ Thrive with the greater community through events and community involvement.

Responsibilities

Oversee the planning and implementation of all out-of-school care programs.
Lead and mentor staff to ensure high-quality care and support for children.
Manage administrative tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
Engage with parents and the community to promote program participation.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
Facilitate training sessions for staff to enhance their skills.

Requirements

Christian ministry training or experience
Some level of Biblical training and or official discipleship training certificate. ie. YWAM DTS
Physically fit, able to run and carry children in case of an emergency as well as participate in outdoor sports and recreation such as hiking, biking and field sports
Proven experience in leading children in recreational or educational groups settings
20 hours or more of child-related training
Class 4 driver's license (or ability to obtain within 8 weeks of hiring)
Clear criminal record check
Emergency child or emergency community first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Food Safe Certificate (preferred)
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent communication abilities for engaging with parents and stakeholders.
Experience in supervising staff members.
Administrative skills to handle budgeting and reporting tasks efficiently.
