GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as the primary Quality SME and part the manufacturing team for DeZURIK Operations in Canada. The Quality role is a position required for any facility or business unit which has significant manufacturing or assembly or a combination thereof. Works with suppliers both domestically and internationally and is responsible for performing activities that support the responsibilities of process quality for production functions, operations and engineering.
This position is 100% on-site at the Cambridge, Ontario facility. Hybrid work arrangements are currently not available.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
· Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive quality system/process
o Support broader Operational Excellence strategic initiatives
o Drive the quality department to satisfy the quality requirements for current business and business improvement directives
· Motivate and inspire team members with a Quality Excellence mindset
o Educate and provide technical support to the broader DeZURIK team, customers, reps, and vendors on all quality processes and expectations
· Plan, propose, lead, and execute root cause and corrective actions, kaizens, or other team-based continuous improvements events to execute improvement opportunities
· Drive Quality improvement through thorough management of department KPI’s
· Be involved in all new product and product redesign development projects. Ensure that all projects are released with appropriate product and process quality metrics in place and that all products comply with the company's documentation.
· Perform first article inspection, receiving and in-process inspection, special and final inspection per specifications and customer requirements. Record appropriate documentation at each inspection operation by sales order, design or customer requirements. Perform special testing and provide certification documentation.
· Conduct supplier quality assurance and conformance inspections both internationally and domestically.
· Lead/perform supplier QA inspections/events with or on behalf of DeZURIK reps and customers, which may include third-party inspection agencies
· Work in tandem with DeZURIK reps and Customers in the development and execution of all test plans (ITP)
· Review and evaluate non-conforming material, disposition of such material, assign, evaluate and perform follow-up activities.
· Develop, implement and maintain all Canada based quality certifications and procedures associated to ISO 9001:2015, PED, SIL, ABSA (Alberta Boiler Safety Association) including tracking, renewals, and compliance activities.
· Maintain accurate calibration of all measuring instruments and any tools that require such calibration.
· Must have and utilize the knowledge and ability to interpret all statistical needs to ensure that all products and processes are in statistical control.
· Support technical service department with quality complaints and analysis, implementing short- and long-term corrective actions. Some field service call visits may be required.
· Liaise with other departments as required to fulfill all quality-related needs (RMA, Logs, NCR, SCAR, Supplier Audits, etc.).
· Participate in and provide assistance with the annual physical inventory count
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Diploma in Quality Discipline and/ or equivalent experience.
· Five years of pertinent experience in a manufacturing-based business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of quality methods, tools, instruments, and statistical analysis techniques.
· Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric tolerances.
· Proficiency in the use of hand metrology instruments.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 system requirements.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels and functions of the organization.
· Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental requirements within a manufacturing environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, M-Files, and ERP systems.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· A positive "Can Do" attitude and ability to contribute in a team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, and extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
· Factory floor support is imperative.
· The physical requirements of the job are related to some testing in the engineering lab, field service activities that can be part of the job assignments, or handling component parts in the plant during a quality inspection.
· Must be able to see and move throughout the plant in order to resolve work problems and facilitate processes.
· Occasional handling of material and components.
· May have contact with caustic substances in some areas of the plant.
· Must be able to tolerate long hours in a shop environment and support after-hours business needs as they arise.
· Travel for the company, including both domestic and international travel may be required for project support and to support systems audits (internal and/or external).
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds independently.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $72,619 to $90,774 CAD range based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
