The Clinical Lead, Health Services will provide comprehensive care, operational quality of the highest standard, leadership, and will promote excellence in nursing and professional practice while ensuring alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values of Lakefield College School. Utilizing advanced leadership skills, and theoretical, and clinical experience, the Clinical Lead, health Services will deliver advanced practical nursing to students and practical nursing direction and advice to nursing colleagues. The Clinical Lead, Health Services will promote organizational and program best practice initiatives and projects.
The Clinical Lead, Health Services, is a people leader. Working within the Health Services department, the successful candidate will provide expert clinical advice and support for the development of a strong health services team who seek consistent excellence in the servicing of our adolescent populaton.
The Clinical Lead, Health Services, reports directly to the Associate Head of School, Chief Operating Officer and works closely with and directly supports the nursing and counselling team.
Accountabilities:
Provide direction for health centre staff in order to ensure on-going support and clinical advice.
Acting routinely as a second-opinion for nursing staff.
Working closely and collaboratively with the School's doctors.
Working with the Associate Head of School, Chief Operating Officer and Health Centre team to develop and administer the Health Centre budget, including planning for capital expenditures and supply replacements for Health Centre
Initiating and overseeing development and implementation of Directives, policies and procedures, information systems, wellness/health education programs with the Health Centre staff.
Working with the school counsellors to provide and communicate confidential counselling services for students and referrals to community agencies as appropriate.
Working closely with the Health Centre Administrator and Nurses to ensure the School has the required information to ensure that all students have appropriate health insurance at the time of their arrival each fall, and that LCS has relevant medical information for each student file.
Communicating and liaising with parents, faculty, and all levels of leadership.
Attending command performance days on weekends and evening events as required.
Working actively in capacity as a Nurse Practitioner.
40 hours per week active nursing hours. In extreme emergency situations the Clinical Lead may be called to provide clinical advice to the on-call nurse when Clinical Lead is not on call.
This is a contract role (12-14 months expected).
Qualifications and Experience:
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and/or Nurse Practitioners of Ontario (NPAO)
In good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses and/or current membership with the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario
Previous experience within a primary care clinic, hospital or emergency room setting
Must have demonstrated interpersonal, team, communication, leadership and public relation skills
Mental health experience is an asset
Proficient computer skills including, but not limited to: Google Suite, MS Word and use of a Mac
Effective problem solving and conflict management skills
Previous experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Experience with program planning and/or group facilitation considered an asset
Current clear criminal background check including vulnerable sector check required
Current First Aid/CPR & AED training will be required
Valid Ontario Drivers License
Compensation:
Expected compensation will range from $100,000-140,000 annually. Please consider the salary range listed as a structural framework.
