Buns Master Bakery Langley is a family-owned and operated business that has been operating in Langley for over 40 years. Every day we manufacture and deliver freshly baked goods across the Lower Mainland. If you enjoy producing food and working in a fast-paced team environment then this may be the job for you!

Job purpose

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Junior Quality Control Assistant to join our growing bakery team in Langley. In this entry-level role, you will monitor our daily production lines, log safety metrics, and ensure food safety compliance. No prior manufacturing QC experience is required—we provide full on-site training for candidates eager to build a career in food safety.

Duties and responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

Daily Documentation: Complete daily food safety logs, including oven temperature charts, cooling logs, and weight checks.
HACCP Program Support: Help track critical control points (CCPs) like baking temperatures and allergen segregation to keep our active HACCP plan compliant.
Production Line Checks: Complete routine weight, size, and packaging seal checks on baked goods straight from the production line.
Sanitation Audits: Perform pre-shift hygiene inspections of mixer bowls, baking racks, and packing stations following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Operational Flexibility: Available to work all days of the week as required by the bakery's production schedule.
General Support: Perform other duties as required to assist the bakery production and management teams.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job include:

Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work changing shifts, including weekends, depending on bakery production demands.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications: FOODSAFE Level 1 or a basic introduction to HACCP is preferred (or you must be willing to complete training within your first 30 days).
Attention to Detail: Clear handwriting and reliable data logging habits for paper and digital compliance files.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk on a warm bakery production floor for 8-hour shifts and lift bins up to 30 lbs.

Working conditions

Scheduled to work 5 days per week including weekends, minimum of 8 hours each shift.

Physical requirements

Capable of lifting to 50lbs to shoulder height and being able to stand for long periods of time.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
