FP Mining Technologies™ (a division of Friesen Plastics Ltd.) · Remote, Canada (preferably within reach of our Alberta manufacturing hub) · Full-time · 40–60% travel across North America, with occasional international.

FP Mining Technologies helps mining operations get more out of every blast. Our patented Compact Deployment Technology (CDT) and Emulsion Liner keep the explosive column intact in the toughest ground - wet, fractured, and void-affected holes - improving bench control, cutting explosive loss, and helping sites stay ahead of NOx and nitrate regulations. Over a million blastholes lined and counting, with top-tier mining companies among our customers. Backed by 40+ years of industrial manufacturing at Friesen Plastics.

The opportunity

We're growing our mining business and hiring our first dedicated Technical Sales Manager to own it in the field. You'll be the technical advisor our customers rely on: running site trials, proving value at the bench, and converting trials into standardized, recurring supply. This is a hunter's role and a builder's role: you'll shape how we grow, with direct access to the GM of Mining.

What you'll do

Own the full cycle: prospect drill-and-blast teams at open-pit/underground mines, scope their ground conditions and understand their operational challenges, and land no-commitment site trials

Run trials on site: coordinate with blast crews, deploy within the standard loading cycle, capture results, and quantify the value (Performance improvement, cost savings, bench control, fume/nitrate compliance)

Convert trials into recurring supply agreements and grow accounts site-by-site

Serve as the technical point of contact from day one: site-specific recommendations matched to each operation's conditions

Feed the field back into the business: product requirements, pricing, competitive intel, and where to expand next

What you bring

5+ years in sales or business development, ideally selling into mining or heavy industry

Drill-and-blast, explosives, or blasting-consumables experience is a strong asset, but not required. If you're an accomplished technical/industrial salesperson, we'll teach you the mining side

A true hunter: you build pipeline, open doors, and close

Consultative, trial-driven selling, you can run a technical evaluation and translate results into dollars

Comfortable working around active mine sites and traveling to remote operations

Self-starter who thrives in an early-stage, high-ownership environment

Strong communicator with both blast crews and procurement/technical leadership

Valid driver's license and authorization to work in Canada

Nice to have: engineering or applied-science background; explosives/blasting certification; French, Spanish, or Portuguese for future growth

What success looks like (first 12 months)

A built pipeline of qualified open-pit/underground prospects and a steady cadence of active site trials

First trials converted to recurring supply

A clear, evidence-backed view of where FP Mining grows next

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission. Travel covered. Details shared during the process.

Pay: $70,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lethbridge, AB T1H 5C6
