Commercial Truck Autobody Technician

Full-Time | $25–$50/hour Based on Experience

We are looking for a Commercial Truck Autobody Technician to join our growing team.

We are open to applicants at different experience levels. Whether you have one year of hands-on autobody experience and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, or you are an experienced commercial autobody technician who can handle complete repairs independently, we want to hear from you.

Pay ranges from $25–$50 per hour and will be based on your actual experience, skill level, capabilities, and ability to work independently.

This is a full-time hourly position — not flat rate. You are paid for every hour you work.

For us, experience is only part of the equation. We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, hardworking, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn. If you have basic autobody experience, your own basic tools, a good attitude, and the ability to work with your hands, we are willing to train and help you develop your skills in commercial truck repair.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on your experience and skill level, your work may include:

Commercial truck and fleet vehicle collision repairs
Vehicle teardown and reassembly
Removing and replacing damaged panels and components
Dent repair and basic metal work
Body filler, sanding, grinding, and preparation
Welding and fabrication
Panel replacement
Structural and frame repairs
Frame straightening and alignment
Fiberglass and composite repairs
Working with steel and aluminum components
Assisting senior technicians with larger or more complex repairs
Working with our paint and refinishing team to prepare vehicles for paint
Learning additional commercial autobody repair techniques as your skills develop
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area

You are not expected to know how to do everything on this list. Your responsibilities will be based on your current experience and capabilities, with opportunities to learn and take on more advanced work over time.

What We're Looking For

We are more interested in finding the right person than someone who checks every box.

Ideally, you have:

At least 1 year of hands-on autobody, collision repair, fabrication, or similar experience
Basic knowledge of autobody tools and repair procedures
Your own basic hand tools
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to work with your hands
Ability to follow instructions and learn from experienced technicians
Strong attention to detail
A willingness to learn new skills
Good attendance and reliability
The ability to work as part of a team
Pride in the quality of your work

Experience with commercial trucks, welding, fabrication, frame repair, fiberglass, aluminum repair, or heavy equipment is an asset, but not required.

Red Seal certification is not required.

Most importantly, we want someone who shows up, works hard, can be trusted, wants to learn, and takes pride in doing things properly.

Compensation

$25–$50 per hour, depending on experience and capabilities.

Examples of factors we consider when determining your wage include:

Years of hands-on experience
Autobody and collision repair knowledge
Commercial truck experience
Welding and fabrication abilities
Structural/frame repair experience
Ability to complete jobs independently
Tools and equipment experience
Overall productivity and quality of workmanship

Someone with limited experience who requires training will start toward the lower end of the range, while an experienced technician capable of completing commercial collision repairs independently will be compensated toward the higher end.

As your abilities and responsibilities increase, there is room for your wage to increase as well.

If you already have several years of commercial autobody experience and can independently handle structural repairs, welding, fabrication, panel replacement, bodywork, and complete collision repairs, we are absolutely interested in speaking with you.

Your experience will be reflected in your compensation.
