Full job description

Rollins Machinery, a lower mainland-based equipment distributor, is growing and we are currently looking for an experienced, motivated individual to fill a_ Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy-Duty Mechanic _position based out of our Langley Head Office location.

*Please note we will not be accepting applications from Apprentices at this time*

Note: Technicians/Mechanics at our Langley location have the option to work a 4 x 10-hour week or the traditional 5 x 8. Please talk to us about your preference during the interview process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-delivery work, new installations, diagnose, disassemble, correct malfunctions and do repairs of all municipal refuse truck bodies; agricultural, mowing and paving equipment; and various other lines that Rollins Machinery represents.
Maintaining logs of equipment condition and work performed (work orders).
Specialized training will be provided as available.
Provide guidance to Apprentices and keep track of their hours for their Apprenticeship Program.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Journeyperson/Red Seal in the Heavy-Duty Mechanical trade.
Apprentices will not be considered for this role.
Perform basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
Knowledge of refuse truck bodies, farm, paving and mowing equipment is considered an asset.
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is an asset.
Capable of meeting the physical demands of the mechanic trade (ability to lift at least 75lbs).
Committed to customer service, efficiency, service excellence, and achievement.
Ability to communicate (oral & written) and work effectively with customers, the service team and other branch personnel.
Having your own tools is an asset.
Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 would be an asset).
Positive work ethic.
