Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our convenience store and fueling station. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth operation of daily activities, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail and customer service skills in a fast-paced setting, with potential for growth within the company. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales effectiveness.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling their vehicles efficiently
Operate POS systems for cash handling, sales transactions, and product purchases
Provide product demos and upsell additional items such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories
Maintain cleanliness of the store, fuel pumps, and surrounding areas
Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
Handle customer inquiries courteously via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent communication skills
Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accurate cash handling
Promote store promotions and special offers to increase sales through effective merchandising techniques
Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during station operations
Assist with other duties as assigned to support team efficiency

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment
Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide exceptional customer service
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Professional phone etiquette and organizational skills required for multitasking during peak hours
Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
