Now Hiring: Dishwasher & Kitchen Prep (2 Separate Positions) – Italian Restaurant | Thornhill, ON

Our employer partner, a busy Italian restaurant in Thornhill, is currently hiring for two separate full-time positions:

1. Dishwasher
2. Kitchen Prep

Location: Thornhill, ON
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 20+ hours per week
Wage: $17.60–$20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Training Provided: Yes, on-the-job training provided

Dishwasher

Responsibilities:

Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas
Remove garbage and recycling and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures
Sweep and mop kitchen floors and perform general cleaning duties
Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and support tasks as needed

Requirements:

Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods
Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Thornhill
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Kitchen Prep

Responsibilities:

Prepare appetizers and assist with basic food preparation tasks
Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables and other ingredients
Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, equipment, and utensils
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation and kitchen duties as required
Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies are running low
Support overall kitchen operations by performing additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

Previous kitchen prep or food service experience is an asset
Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Thornhill
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
