Full job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with proven experience in HVAC and plumbing system design. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and practical field coordination skills. Possession of a P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed HVAC and plumbing system designs, including load calculations, equipment sizing, ductwork and piping layouts, and system schematics.
Develop construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents in coordination with architects, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
Perform site reviews and inspections to verify compliance with design documents and industry standards.
Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and client requirements (ASHRAE, NFPA, OBC, local plumbing codes, etc.).
Collaborate with project teams to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality objectives.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
1+ years of experience in mechanical design for buildings, specifically HVAC and plumbing systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and design software (e.g., HAP, Trace, Carrier E20, etc.).
Familiarity with mechanical codes, standards, and regulations applicable in Ontario/Canada.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and consultants.
P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) in Ontario is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site visits as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
