Full job description

Date: Required Immediately

Employment Type:

Permanent full-time (40-hours/week) - Preferred

*May consider 30–35 hours per week for the right person

Ideal candidate:

Permanent Full-Time position – we can offer some flexibility in days/hours, if required.

Permanent Part-Time candidates may be considered (as an exception) but work schedule would be close to 30 hours/week

About You: The ideal candidate is confident in core technical skills—particularly anesthesia, dentistry, and surgical support—and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality patient care. You will play a key role in supporting our veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients at all times.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a crucial temporary team member, you’ll lead our technical team and support our veterinarians by utilizing your full skill set including:

Reviewing anesthesia protocols/drug and hydration calculations/prescriptions
Performing anesthesia monitoring (modern equipment)
Providing technical support during examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures
Performing dental prophylaxis and imaging using new dental hygiene equipment and digital dental x-ray (purchased in December 2025)
Independently managing and performing tech appointment procedures (with assistance from experienced Veterinary Assistants)
Evaluating post-surgical pain control and monitoring patient recovery
Advocating for patient comfort and safety
Communicating with clients
Collaborating with a supportive team, including some supervision of qualified veterinary assistants who will assist with delegated tasks
Maintaining Control Drug logbooks

What We’re Looking For:

Registered Veterinary Technologist who is reliable, responsible and works autonomously with minimal supervision
Strong technical and clinical skills, especially in anesthesia, dentistry and surgery
A calm, confident, and compassionate approach to patient care
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Fear-free patient handling skills; Fear Free Certification is not required but can become Certified with CE budget after probation period is satisfied

Schedule:

Monday to Friday work week
Flexible 4- or 5-day schedule
Dayshift – core hours
No on-call shifts
No weekend work
No after hours or extended hours coverage
