About Ironhorse

Ironhorse Truck Transfer Corp. is a professional truck transfer and drive-away company that moves commercial vehicles throughout Canada and the United States. Our customers rely on us to move their equipment safely, professionally, and on time.

We are looking for a dependable and organized Call Taker / Dispatcher to help support drivers, customers, and daily operations.

Position Summary

The Call Taker / Dispatcher is responsible for answering incoming calls, collecting accurate move information, communicating with drivers, and helping coordinate vehicle pickups and deliveries.

This role is important to keeping Ironhorse organized, responsive, and professional. The right person will be calm under pressure, good with people, and able to manage several moving pieces at once.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Call Taker / Dispatcher may be responsible for:

Answering incoming customer and driver calls
Taking down accurate pickup and delivery information
Entering move details into dispatch sheets or company systems
Communicating move instructions to drivers
Confirming pickup locations, delivery locations, contact names, phone numbers, and unit details
Checking VIN numbers, stock numbers, and customer paperwork when required
Monitoring driver progress and updating customers when needed
Helping arrange hotels, Ubers, flights, or travel support when required
Communicating with customers in a professional and helpful manner
Reporting delays, issues, damages, breakdowns, or customer concerns to management
Keeping dispatch records organized and up to date
Following Ironhorse procedures for paperwork, photos, receipts, and trip completion
Supporting after-hours, or urgent dispatch needs when required

Requirements

Applicants should have:

Strong communication skills by phone, text, and email
Good computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and basic data entry
Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Good attention to detail
Ability to follow procedures and keep accurate records
Calm and professional attitude under pressure
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable phone and internet access, if working remotely
Willingness to learn the trucking, dispatch, and drive-away industry

Preferred Experience

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in:

Trucking, logistics, dispatch, or transportation
Customer service or call-taking
Scheduling or coordinating drivers
Working with spreadsheets or dispatch software
Arranging travel, hotels, or transportation
Handling time-sensitive customer requests
