Full job description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Skating Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for athlete development, a strong understanding of stride biomechanics, and the ability to lead, motivate and engage athletes during their training sessions.

Specifically, we are looking for a skating coach to fill our weekend availability for our skating treadmill sessions. These sessions would include Saturday and Sunday, approximately 9am-5pm. Additional hours would be available on weekday evenings.

Responsibilities:

Conduct skating treadmill training sessions focused on stride mechanics and performance improvement.
Provide individualized coaching to athletes, ensuring proper technique and safety.
Assess athletes’ stride mechanics and run tailored sessions.
Working with kids of all ages and abilities.
Collaborate with the team to continuously improve training methods and programs.
Maintain a positive and professional environment in the training facility.
Monitor and maintain the treadmill and training equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years coaching, personal training, or a related experience.
Post-secondary education in physical health sciences (e.g., kinesiology, personal training, physical education, etc.).
Strong understanding of biomechanics and athletic development principles for kids of all ages.
Higher-level playing experience in hockey (or other ice sports) is not a requirement but is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
