Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable PET Extrusion Operator to join our client's manufacturing team in Brampton. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating PET plastic extrusion equipment, strong attention to safety and quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machine operator or extrusion technician looking to grow their skills in plastics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Safely operate, start up, run, and shut down PET extrusion equipment.
Set up machinery and load raw materials according to production requirements.
Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain product quality.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of finished products.
Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify product specifications.
Record production data, quality results, and machine information accurately.
Identify and report quality issues, machine concerns, and production abnormalities.
Assist with troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments as required.
Unload, store, label, and organize finished products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow 5S, EHS, workplace safety, and quality procedures.
Support supervisors and assist in training new team members when required.
Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating PET plastic extrusion machines — required.
Minimum 1 year of experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers — required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Plastics manufacturing or extrusion experience is strongly preferred.
Mechanical or technical background is an asset.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English.
Basic math skills and ability to accurately record production information.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Comfortable standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required.
Must be available to work 12-hour day or night shifts
