The Apps Support Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Team/Function Overview:
The Global Markets landscape is significantly shaped by regulatory initiatives such as MiFID II, Dodd Frank, and Volcker. These requirements are a key focus and priority, impacting all product types and asset classes including Cash, ETD, and OTC derivatives across Rates, Credit, Equities, FX, Commodities, Futures, Securitized Markets, and Municipals. These regulations necessitate fundamental changes in trading practices and significant investment in supporting technology platforms. The Regulatory Support team is responsible for ensuring the stability and data quality of our Regulatory platforms, thereby ensuring Citi's compliance with the highest standards of global external regulators.
Responsibilities:
- The Apps Support Intmd Analyst provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applcations.
- Utilizes good understanding of apps support procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas to field issues and queries from stakeholders, provide short-term resolutions and work with relevant technology partners for long term remediation.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of how areas of apps support collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
- Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors
- Participates in disaster recovery testing
- Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
- perform post release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates. Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Considers implications of the application of technology to the current environment.
- Analyzes applications to identify risks, vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions Cooperation with Development colleagues to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.

Qualifications:
- 2-5 years experience
- Basic knowledge or interest about apps support procedures, concepts and of other technical areas.
- Participation in some process improvements.
- Previous experience or interest in standardization of procedures and practices.
- Basic Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products.
- Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.
- Understands of how own sub-function integrates within the function and commercial awareness
- Evaluates (sometimes complex) situations using multiple sources of information Developed communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence
- Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the business and its technology strategy

Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Experience
- Experience in Application Support, Production Support, IT Operations, or a related technology role.
- Experience supporting business applications in a production environment.
- Exposure to incident, problem, and change management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the stability and data quality of critical regulatory platforms.
- Contribute to meeting compliance standards with global external regulators.
- Learn and apply engineering, innovation, and automation to enhance system reliability and performance.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:
- Experience:2-5 years of hands-on experience in Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related operations role.
- Operating Systems:Proficient in UNIX/Linux/Windows environments.
- Scripting & Programming:
- Good scripting and automation skills (e.g., Shell Scripting, Python, Perl).
- Familiarity with a programming language such as Java, C#, .Net, or HTML5, and a strong willingness to learn new technologies.
- Databases:
- Solid SQL experience with RDBMS like Sybase, Oracle, or MSSQL.
- Ability to write and debug SQL queries. Experience with data analysis is a plus.
- Monitoring & Logging:
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, or Datadog.
- Experience with log aggregation tools like Splunk or ELK.
- Cloud & APIs:
- Exposure to supporting cloud-hosted applications (e.g., ECS) and a good understanding of REST APIs.
- Middleware:
- Familiarity with middleware solutions such as Tibco EMS, MQ, or Kafka.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Big Data Platforms:Basic knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem components (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Spark) is an advantage.
- Scheduling:Experience with Autosys or other job schedulers is a plus.
- Certifications:Relevant OS or Administration certifications are preferred.
