We're a video production company working with construction, development, and trades businesses across Southeast New Brunswick. Our clients are electrical contractors, home builders, developers, and design studios. We make the content that gets them known.
We're hiring one person to shoot and edit alongside our lead editor. This is an entry-level role. It's a good first or second job in the field — you might be recently out of a media program, or a year or two into freelancing.
What the job actually looks like
About 30% of your time is on location — job sites, client offices, active construction. Business owners on camera who aren't actors. Early starts, weather that doesn't cooperate.
The other 70% is post. Mostly short-form, delivered weekly. Real deadlines.
At the start, you'll come along on shoots and edit what comes back. Then you'll run shoots off a brief we write together. Then you'll write the brief yourself. How fast that happens depends on you, but the path is the same for everyone.
What we're looking for
- An eye. We can teach camera settings. We can't teach you to notice that the shot is boring.
- You'll learn to shoot solo — framing, clean audio, enough coverage. We'll build the briefs with you until you can run them yourself.
- You can edit short-form and want to get faster at it.
- You take written feedback well and get through most of it on the first pass.
- You ask what a video is for before you make it.
- Driver's licence and a vehicle.
- French is an asset, not a requirement. About 70% of our clients work in both languages, so it helps — but we've hired people without it and will again.
You don't need agency experience. You don't need your own client list. You need an eye and a work ethic.
What we're not looking for
Someone who wants to direct. This is a hands-on shoot-and-edit role, and there's a lot of volume.
What we provide
Gear. Cameras, drone, audio, lighting — all of it, and all current. You don't need your own kit.
Training that's actually training. Written briefs before the shoot, so you know what you're going for. Direct feedback after, from someone who watched your cut and can tell you why the second angle didn't work. Not "looks good, ship it."
Volume. You'll be shooting for real businesses within your first few weeks. Not sitting in on other people's projects for a year waiting for permission.
How to apply
Send two things to [email protected]:
- Your reel.
- One video you didn't make that you think is great, and one line on why.
The second one isn't a test. We're curious how you think about work that isn't yours.
The final stage is a paid half-day on a real shoot.
Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
