FCF is looking for an energetic clinician to come work on the beautiful farmland in Mono, Ontario. The successful candidate would work as an independent contractor with a flexible caseload and facilitate family workshops.
Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 an hour

Fiddlehead Care Farm (FCF) is a non-profit Care Farm which serves people of all ages and abilities. FCF’s mission is to provide clinical and therapeutic services to children, youth and families through animal-assisted Care Farming. Skilled therapists use nature-based Ecotherapy and animal-assisted interventions to support children and youth facing barriers such as developmental, physical, emotional, and behavioural needs and/or mental health concerns.
FCF is looking for a Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist who will provide exceptional service to their clients and families, loves to work outdoors, and uses the power of play, nature, and animals to support coping, healing, and growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Master’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent counselling degree
● Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario in good standing
● Experience in family therapy work would be an asset, but new grads encouraged to apply!
● Comfortable working with animals and knowledge of Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)
● Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team
● Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management skills and attention to detail
● Have demonstrated consultation and problem-solving skills
● Experience with school-age children who present with a variety of physical and developmental needs and their families
● Experience in planning and conducting a series of family sessions or workshops
● Specialized skills to support children, youth and their families who have experienced or been affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and separation/divorce
● Experience and familiarity with various therapeutic approaches (e.g. CBT, solution-focused, trauma-informed, play-based, nature-based therapy)
● Computer skills
● Prior experience in private practice setting is an asset
Responsibilities and Duties:
● Provide mental health treatment to children and their families, addressing a range of mental health issues, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
● Provide services in individual, family, and group formats
● Develop and implement a plan of intervention which addresses each client and family’s needs, coping, and quality of life. This is achieved through a variety of modalities including animal-assisted therapy, nature-based intervention, CBT, trauma-informed counselling, behaviour management plans, consultation, crisis intervention, community outreach, and advocacy.
● Work with FCF staff to create and implement a series of family workshops
● Complete administrative tasks, including charting
● Adhere to FCF’s policies and procedures
● Operate from an anti-oppressive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach
● Animal care and farm duties as required
● This role will report to the Executive Director and Property Owner of FCF
● Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
