Faites partie d'une équipe collaborative dédiée à la recherche sur les maladies neurodégénératives!

Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) Technicien(ne) en soins animaliers pour se joindre à notre équipe in vivo. Ce poste joue un rôle essentiel dans le maintien des opérations quotidiennes de nos installations animalières et dans les soins apportés à nos animaux de laboratoire. Le ou la titulaire du poste contribuera au maintien des plus hauts standards de bien-être animal, de biosécurité et de qualité, tout en soutenant les activités de recherche de Biospective

RESPONSABILITÉS:

Fournir quotidiennement les soins et l`entretien aux animaux (principalement des rongeurs), incluant l`alimentation, la préparation de régimes alimentaires spéciaux, l`administration d`eau, la surveillance de l`état de santé et l`offre d`enrichissements environnementaux.
Effectuer les changements de cages et/ou le lavage des cages conformément aux horaires et procédures établis.
Effectuer l`entretien régulier des installations animalières (désinfection des salles d`animaux, des corridors, de l`équipement et des outils) afin d`assurer un niveau élevé de propreté et de salubrité.
Maintenir une documentation appropriée relative au contrôle qualité pour les tâches de soins aux animaux et l`équipement des installations.
Effectuer le suivi de l`inventaire des fournitures, ainsi que la commande et la réception des animaux et des fournitures entrantes.
Observer et signaler rapidement toute anomalie liée à la santé, au comportement ou au bien-être des animaux à l`équipe in vivo et au gestionnaire des installations.
Respecter les exigences en matière de biosécurité, de bien-être animal et les exigences réglementaires applicables, et signaler toute problématique dès son apparition.
Lire et s`assurer de bien comprendre les SOP, les procédures et les plans d`étude avant le début de chaque étude ou activité.
Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe requis.
Contribuer au maintien et à l`amélioration continue du système de gestion de la qualité (QMS) de Biospective, sans s’y limiter, la création et la mise à jour de procédures opératoires normalisées (SOP), le respect des procédures en place, l`application des bonnes pratiques de documentation (GDP) et des principes ALCOA+, ainsi que la remontée rapide des problèmes (ex. non-conformités, déviations, etc.) et des préoccupations liées au travail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diplôme d`études secondaires ou équivalent requis. Un diplôme ou une attestation d`études dans un domaine connexe constitue un atout.
Expérience antérieure de travail avec des animaux dans un centre de recherche, une clinique vétérinaire ou un environnement similaire constitue un atout.
Connaissance des méthodes sécuritaires de manipulation des animaux (particulièrement des rongeurs) et capacité à détecter les signes cliniques anormaux constitue un atout.
Excellentes compétences en communication et en organisation.
Capacité à travailler efficacement dans un environnement réglementé et dynamique.
Capacité à rester debout pendant de longues périodes, à soulever et déplacer des cages et des chariots lourds, ainsi qu`à effectuer des tâches répétitives.
Maîtrise du français et de l`anglais, à l`oral et à l`écrit.

CONDITIONS DE TRAVAIL:
Poste en présentiel, 40 heures par semaine, avec un horaire flexible incluant certains quarts de fin de semaine et jours fériés. La personne doit être disponible pour répondre aux situations d`urgence et aux besoins opérationnels en dehors des heures normales de travail besoin.

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our in vivo team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our animal facilities and providing high-quality care for our laboratory animals. The successful candidate will help maintain the highest standards of animal welfare, biosafety, and quality while supporting Biospective's research activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide daily husbandry and animal care (predominantly rodents), including feeding, preparation of special diets, watering, health monitoring, and providing enrichment.
Perform cage changing and/or cage washing in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
Conduct routine maintenance of the animal facilities (sanitization of animal rooms, corridors, equipment, tools) to ensure high standards of facility cleanliness.
Maintain appropriate quality control documentation for relevant husbandry tasks & facility equipment.
Monitor supplies inventory, ordering/receipt of incoming animals & supplies.
Observe and promptly report any abnormalities in animal health, behavior, or welfare to the in vivo team and the facility manager.
Adhere to all biosafety, animal welfare, and applicable regulatory requirements, and report any issues as they arise.
Read and ensure understanding of SOPs, procedures and study plans prior to the start of each study and activity.
Perform other duties as required.
Contribute to the continued maintenance and improvement of Biospective’s QMS, including, but not limited to, the generation of new, and modification of existing, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring procedures are followed, exercising good documentation practices (GDP) and ALCOA+ principles, escalating issues (e.g., nonconformances, deviations, etc.) and concerns in a timely manner, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certificate in a related field is considered an asset.
Previous experience working with animals in a research facility, veterinary clinic, or similar environment is considered an asset.
Knowledge of safe animal handling practices (particularly rodents) and the ability to recognize abnormal clinical signs is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy cages and carts, and perform repetitive tasks.
Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
On-site,40 hours per week, flexible schedule including some weekends, holidays and available to respond to emergency situations and after-hours operational needs (as required).
