Bus Driver (Part-Time → Full-Time Opportunity)
In Space Universe – Nanaimo, BC

In Space Universe is building a new kind of family experience—bringing together childcare, academy, and aquatics under one integrated environment. As we grow, we are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Bus Driver to join our team.

We are currently hiring two drivers to support transportation for our school-age and daycare members, with additional opportunities to support Academy programming.

The Opportunity

This role will begin as Part-Time (approx. 12.5-15 hours per week) with flexible scheduling. It is a split shift 7:30-approximately 9:00 am & 1:45-3:00pm daily. Off STAT holidays, school closures, except summer, which may offer more hours if desired)

Compensation

$25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Operate a bus in accordance with the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act and National Safety Code regulations
Safely transport school-age and daycare members to and from programs
Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or concerns
Maintain passenger safety, supervision, and appropriate conduct at all times
Support safe and efficient routing; suggest improvements where appropriate
Troubleshoot minor on-road mechanical issues
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and basic upkeep (oil, water, tire chains as required)
Work closely with the Customer Service team and report to leadership

Qualifications

Valid Class 4 Unrestricted, 2, or 1 Driver’s License
Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR-C
Completion of one of the following :
Responsible Adult Course
Or equivalent training (minimum 20 hours in child development, guidance, health & safety, or nutrition)
Successful completion of agency screening, including criminal record check
Additional documentation may be required upon hiring
