The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $83,000 per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
Your Role:
-
Planning, conducting, and supervising geotechnical investigations.
-
Evaluating geologic conditions and geotechnical characteristics for assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures and earth structures.

Conducting foundation investigations for commercial, industrial, and high-rise developments.
-
Assisting with shallow and deep foundation design.
-
Assisting with geohazard and seismic assessments.
-
Assisting with dam safety reviews.
-
Assisting with slope stability and embankment assessments and mitigation designs.
-
Analyzing field data and preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations.
-
Preparing proposals, budgeting, and scheduling of projects.
-
Communicating with clients and sub-consultants and internal stakeholders.
-
Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

Working in a safe manner at all times and reporting all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.

A minimum of 1 year experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity is preferred.

Experience in a consulting engineering environment is considered an asset.
-
Some experience establishing and maintaining client relationships is considered an asset.

Previous experience in site reconnaissance and exploration for site characterization programs would be preferred.

Experience writing internal and external reports and proposals would be considered an asset.

Previous experience using MS Office, AutoCAD, QGIS, and geotechnical software suites (e.g. Rocscience, GeoStudio, Plaxis) is preferred.

Experience with Python or other coding language and/or numerical modeling software would be considered an asset.

Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the project by being a team player.

Travel may be required in this position, and candidates must be prepared to undertake field assignments, in the Interior of British Columbia and also within western Canada.

Must be physically capable of performing the manual field duties required.

Must be or eligible to register as a professional engineer in British Columbia and possess a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent).
