Job Title: Construction Technician
Job Description
The Construction Technician cleans, refurbishes, and repairs modular units when they return to the shop and assists with setup activities as needed. This role involves a variety of hands-on construction and renovation tasks using basic hand and power tools in a comfortable, climate-controlled bay environment.
Responsibilities

Clean, refurbish, and repair modular units when they return to the shop, ensuring they are safe, functional, and presentable.

Perform minor construction and renovation tasks inside modular units, including putting up minor walls and completing light framing work.

Assist with the setup and installation of modular units as needed, both inside the bay and occasionally outdoors.

Use basic hand and power tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and similar equipment to complete daily tasks safely and efficiently.

Inspect units for issues such as damaged components, loose fixtures, or worn parts and complete necessary repairs, including fixing wheels and related hardware.

Support basic carpentry activities, including fitting, fastening, and adjusting components within the units.

Assist with simple renovation-related tasks that may involve basic elements of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other trades under appropriate guidance.

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area within the construction bay and surrounding spaces.

Collaborate with a small shop team to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and ensure modular units are ready for deployment.

Perform various additional tasks as needed to support the overall operation of the shop and modular unit fleet.
Essential Skills

Experience using basic hand and power tools, including hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and similar equipment.

Prior exposure to a construction site or renovation environment.

Basic renovation experience, such as simple framing or light construction tasks.

Ability to perform minor carpentry work within modular units.

Capability to put up minor walls and complete small-scale structural adjustments inside units.

Mechanical aptitude to repair and adjust components such as wheels and related hardware.

Comfort working with a variety of construction-related tasks and adapting to changing daily priorities.

Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Any construction-related certifications or formal training.

Experience in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing work, even at a basic level.

Experience in general construction, renovation, or modular building assembly.

Experience working in a small team environment within a shop or bay setting.

Work Environment
The role is primarily based in a construction bay equipped with air conditioning, providing a comfortable indoor working environment for most tasks. You will work as part of a small shop team, allowing for close collaboration and clear communication. While most work occurs inside the bay, you will occasionally go outside as needed for setups or related activities. The position follows a day shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., supporting a consistent routine and work-life balance. The environment involves regular use of hand and power tools and standard construction equipment, with an emphasis on safety and organization.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
