Full job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing organization. The ideal candidate is proficient in accounting software, has strong reconciliation skills, and can produce accurate financial reports while maintaining meticulous records.

We are a growing organization operating two modern dental practices and a private investment company, committed to excellence, integrity, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and Sage.
Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
Process vendor invoices and prepare payments.

Bank & Account Reconciliation

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Systematically compare internal financial records against bank and credit card statements to identify discrepancies.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
Reconcile intercompany accounts where applicable.

Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly financial statements, including:
Balance Sheet
Income Statement (Profit & Loss)
Cash Flow Statement (if required)
Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare supporting schedules and reports for management and external accountants.
Ensure financial records are complete and audit-ready.

Payroll & Compliance (Preferred)

Process payroll accurately and on time.
Prepare and file GST/PST returns and other government remittances.
Maintain payroll records and employee deductions.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage (required).
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
Experience with bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
Ability to prepare financial statements independently.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Experience in a multi-company environment.
Experience working with external accountants during year-end.

It should help attract candidates who can independently manage the bookkeeping function rather than just perform data entry.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
