About Us

Bittersweet Symphony is a busy, high-volume bakery specializing in custom cakes, wedding cakes, desserts, pastries and large-scale orders. We are looking for a talented and efficient Cake Decorator to join our friendly and creative team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced bakery, takes pride in their work and can maintain excellent quality while completing orders on time.

Responsibilities

Decorate birthday cakes, wedding cakes, custom cakes and other specialty desserts
Apply buttercream smoothly and complete piping, borders and decorative finishes
Work with fondant, edible images, chocolate decorations, flowers and cake toppers
Follow customer orders, design instructions and reference images accurately
Produce consistent, high-quality work in a high-volume bakery environment
Manage multiple orders while meeting daily production deadlines
Prepare buttercream, fillings and other decorating materials as required
Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe workstation
Communicate clearly with other decorators, bakers and front-of-house team members
Assist with packaging, labelling and organizing completed orders
Support the team during busy weekends, wedding season and holiday periods

Qualifications

Previous professional cake-decorating experience is preferred
Strong buttercream piping and cake-finishing skills
Experience with custom and wedding cakes is an asset
Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality
Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills
Dependable, punctual and organized
Able to follow instructions and work independently when required
Positive attitude and ability to work well within a friendly team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery
Must be available for some weekends and busy holiday periods
Food Handler Certification is an asset

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods
