Part-Time Contract | $20-$25/hour | Flexible Schedule

Leo Lighthouse – a trusted one-to-one, personalized tutoring company dedicated to helping JK-12 students build confidence and achieve academic success – is hiring Math Tutors to work with elementary and/or high school students throughout North York and Midtown Toronto!

About the Tutoring Opportunity

As a Leo Lighthouse tutor, you're more than just a tutor—you're a mentor. Helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop a love of learning is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring. You'll work one-on-one with students, adapting your approach to their learning styles while benefiting from our marketing support.

This is a flexible part-time contract. Our tutors choose which students to accept and build their own weekly schedules. Tutors are matched to students based on expertise, location, and personality. Enjoy competitive pay, flexible hours, and a supportive teaching environment!

As a Leo Lighthouse Tutor, you can be relied upon to:

Provide one-on-one private math tutoring for elementary or high school students
Travel to pre-screened students' homes in North York or Midtown Toronto
Schedule consistent weekly tutoring appointments with students or their parents

Qualifications:

Previous math tutoring or teaching experience in Ontario
University/college student, graduate, postgraduate, teacher, retired teacher, OCT candidate, special education specialist, or professional in STEM, finance, or healthcare
Ability to tutor Elementary Math (Grades 1-8) and/or High School Math (Grades 9-12)
Knowledgeable of the Ontario curriculum
Skilled at breaking down topics in an encouraging way to impart a love for learning
Passion for helping students succeed

Successful candidates:

Have some availability between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weeknights and weekends, as these are generally the times requested by clients
Are willing to complete a criminal background check, if not already completed
Have access to a personal vehicle for travel to students’ homes in North York

Nice to have:

Experience supporting students with different learning needs (e.g., autism, ADHD)
Enrolled in or completed a teacher education program (e.g., OCT)
International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) program experience
