Experienced Demolition Worker

Starfish Demolition & Services
Location: Halifax and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience

About the Role

Starfish Demolition & Services is looking for an Experienced Demolition Worker to join our growing team. We work on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout Halifax and the surrounding area.

We are looking for someone with solid hands-on demolition experience who is comfortable taking a leadership role and supervising a small crew on site. The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Perform hands-on demolition and dismantling work on a variety of projects.
Lead and supervise a small team of workers on site.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
Use hand and power tools and demolition equipment safely and properly.
Assist with site preparation, debris removal, sorting, and cleanup.
Follow all company and workplace health and safety procedures.
Identify and communicate potential hazards or site concerns.
Work effectively with supervisors, contractors, clients, and team members.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous demolition experience is required.
Valid driver's licence is an asset.
Experience supervising or leading a small crew is an asset.
Experience working with asbestos, lead, and/or mold is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of safe demolition practices and workplace safety procedures.
Comfortable working in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
Able to operate common hand and power tools.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
Physically capable of performing demanding, hands-on work.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Relevant safety training, tickets, or certifications are an asset.
