General Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Accounting Clerk includes providing support to the Finance Director and Accounting team and ensuring day-to-day operation of the office. This may require the ability to train on various accounting functions to assist in vacation coverage of other staff.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist in creating and issuing daily invoices and conducting all tasks required for weekly billing

· Assist in completing weekly driver trip sheets for payroll

· Use ACCPAC and TMW to enter new customers, customer rates, and any other information that may be required

· Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents

· File necessary documents in accordance with the current filing procedures

· Ensure files are maintained accurately in accordance with the current filing procedures

· Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks as required

· Prepare accurate bank reconciliations and deposits as required

· Assist in reception relief as required

· Offer support to all Managers on an as needed basis

· Carry out any tasks, that may be assigned by the Controller, in an effective and timely manner

Requirements:·

· Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative

· Strong computer skills, with intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office

· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure & meet deadlines required

· Exceptional time management skills as well as proven organizational skills

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Strong work ethic & a professional, positive “can-do” attitude and approach to responsibilities with an ability to meet new challenges & changes with an open mind

· Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

· Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

· Proficiency in problem analysis & problem solving

· Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and collaboration skills

· Independent with ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision

· Ability to think creatively

Education, Training, Experience Requirements:

· Post secondary degree or diploma in accounting or business administration

· Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative and accounting role

· Minimum 1 years experience in transportation or air freight is an asset

· Minimum 3 years experience in customer service

· Knowledge of TMW, ACCPAC, and other accounting software

. Minimum 2 years Accounts Payable experience

. Minimum 3 years Accounts Receivable experience

. Business Central Knowledge is an asset
