Full job description

As an intern in this role, you will gain hands-on experience working closely with department leads and team members to optimize data processes, create impactful dashboards, and contribute to strategic decision-making across various departments, including safety, operations, and finance. This internship will provide you with valuable skills and knowledge in data analytics and strategy consulting within the transportation industry.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with department leads and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, identify areas for improvement, and streamline data processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support data-driven decision-making for departmental heads and senior management.
Utilize SQL to write queries and extract data from various databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Leverage Looker Studio to design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations for different departments, including safety, operations, and finance, enabling stakeholders to easily access and analyze relevant data.
Support data quality assessments by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data, and participate in data cleansing and data governance activities.
Contribute to strategic initiatives by providing data analysis and insights to support departmental goals, such as cost optimization, performance improvement, and risk mitigation.
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and strategy consulting, and actively apply this knowledge to your work.
