Pavilion Co-operative Management

Housing Co-ordinator

Pavilion Co-operative Management (Pavilion) is recruiting to fill a full-time position (35 hours per week) as a Housing Co-ordinator in Ottawa.

Reporting to The Regional Co-ordinator, the Manager will be assigned to a co-operative site to provide day-to-day on-site services to the co-operative’s members and its board of directors.

Who we are:

Pavilion Co-operative Management (Pavilion) was established in 2009 to fill property management service gaps in the co-operative and non-profit housing sector. We provide services to co-operatives to suit their individual needs. We work closely with the Board of Directors and the membership to ensure the co-op’s goals are met on a daily, monthly and annual basis.

Our services focus on managing the finances, meeting legal requirements, working with maintenance staff to keep properties in good repair, keeping units full and supporting good governance.

Wage: $40,000 - $45,500/year depending on experience. This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week.

The successful applicant will:

· have a working understanding of property management

· have a working knowledge of co-op housing

· have a strong understanding of financial statements

· have excellent interpersonal skills

· have effective oral and written communication skills

· be able to organize tasks and priorities

· be able to work independently

· have a proven ability to supervise staff and contractors

· have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office

· have experience working with volunteers and a board of directors

Responsibilities of Position:

· Answer the phone, and emails

· Monthly deposits

· Presentation of financial statements to the board

· Facilitate in the filling of vacancies

· Oversee contractors and maintenance staff

· Facilitate member engagement activities and support committees to execute activities

· Develop monthly Board packages and attend monthly meetings

· Send notices and follow up letters to members as needed

This is a work from home position with a need to attend the site several times a week to follow up with contractors, get mail, deliver notices and check on the members and property.

Some travel and evening work will be required. Pavilion offers a competitive remuneration package.
