Reports to: General Manager
About the Role
As the Service Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the service department. You will lead technicians, service advisors and support staff while working closely with the Parts and Sales departments to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction, team engagement, operational efficiency, profitability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead the daily operations of the service department.
- Create an efficient workflow that maximizes technician productivity and shop capacity.
- Ensure repairs are completed safely, accurately and on time.
- Continuously improve processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional service facility.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, coach, mentor and develop a high-performing service team.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Manage scheduling, attendance and payroll approvals.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience from service intake through vehicle delivery.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and proactively.
- Partner with the Sales and Parts departments to ensure seamless customer support.
- Build long-term customer relationships through trust and service excellence.
Financial Performance
- Manage departmental budgets and expenses.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive labour sales, productivity, efficiency and profitability.
- Support warranty recovery and cost-control initiatives.
Vendor & Facility Management
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate facility maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Ensure shop equipment and fleet vehicles are properly maintained and operational.
Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe, clean and compliant workplace.
- Support company health and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace and environmental regulations.

What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in a service or operations environment.
- Management experience in RV, automotive, marine, heavy equipment, trucking, powersports or another customer-focused service industry is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and dealership or service management software.
- Mechanical or technical knowledge is an asset but not required for the right operational leader.
