SUMMARY of POSITION

Currently, we are looking for flexible English language instructors for our virtual and in-person classes. Instructors will work in our office located at 1001-350 Sparks street in Ottawa and online from their preferred location.

If you have native fluency in the target language and a passion for both teaching and learning, then Berlitz may be the right place for you to utilize your knowledge and skills while developing yourself both personally and professionally as a language instructor!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Language Instructor, you will deliver in-person and online lessons focusing on the interests and needs of your students. Instructors will be working one-on-one and with small groups.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Keeping student records and profile cards up to date
Integrating learning technology into teaching programs

QUALIFICATIONS/RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Native-level fluency in the target language (required)
Resident of Ottawa or surrounding areas (required)
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent (required)
Excellent communication / interpersonal skills (required)
Versatility in providing online lessons via Zoom, Microsoft teams, or other online platforms
Good and reliable internet connection (required)
Headphones with a built-in microphone - to be used in training and teaching (required)
Appropriate environment for online teaching (noise-free, tidy background, etc.) (required)
Experience in teaching the target language to adults (priority, but not required)
Availability from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and/or from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time (open to negotiation)

Job Type: Full-time and Part-time

Work Location: Remote and in-person

Salary: $19.00 CAD per hour for lessons taught

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ottawa, ON K1R 7S8
