Technical Account Manager (TAM) – Aerospace

Are you an Aerospace Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, solving complex technical challenges, and translating technical information into practical solutions?

APS Aerospace is seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to join our growing team in Ottawa. This role combines aerospace engineering knowledge, technical capability and exceptional customer communication skills to support aviation customers around the world using APS Aerospace's flight data analysis and flight simulation software.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Aerospace Engineering, working knowledge of Python, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to our customers, working closely with them as well as APS Aerospace's Engineering and Development teams.

This is an aerospace engineering-focused position and is not an IT, systems administration, or general software support role.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Account Manager, you will be the primary technical contact for a portfolio of aviation customers and will help them successfully implement, integrate and maximize the value of APS Aerospace's software solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building trusted, long-term relationships with assigned aviation customers.
Developing a strong understanding of each customer's technical and operational requirements.
Guiding customers through software implementation, onboarding, upgrades and deployments.
Configuring APS Aerospace software products, including Insight, FAS and Lumina.
Providing technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.
Troubleshooting technical and software issues and coordinating solutions with Development and Engineering teams.
Using your knowledge of aerospace engineering and aviation to understand customer requirements and assist in identifying appropriate technical solutions.
Delivering customer training, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
Clearly communicating complex technical concepts to customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
Participating in software testing and validation activities.
Monitoring customer adoption and identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience.
Communicating customer requirements and feedback internally to support product development and continuous improvement.
Participating in an after-hours customer support rotation as required.

What You Bring

Mandatory Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field with aviation/aircraft systems knowledge.
Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and scripting.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with customers, engineers, technical teams and management.
Strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills.
Ability to understand complex aerospace and technical concepts and explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively with customers and internal technical teams to identify issues, determine requirements and coordinate solutions.

Assets

The following would be considered assets:

Previous experience in the aviation or aerospace industry.
Experience with flight data analysis, Flight Data Monitoring (FDM), flight simulation or aviation software.
Previous experience in a technical customer-facing role.
Experience delivering technical training, presentations or product demonstrations.
Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, JavaScript or other data analysis and technical tools.

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Location: On-Site (Mon–Fri) at 1420 Blair Towers Place (Ottawa, ON)
Salary: $65,000–$80,000 CAD annually, based on qualifications and experience
