Full job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for running produce machines ensuring high standards of quality, appropriate weights, and specifications for specific customers.

KEY RESULTS AREAS:

PRODUCTION:

Responsible for running the product machines (eg. bagger) running at full capacity
Ensure that proper ribbons and labels are being used for packaging
Understand grades and size requirements for different customers (i.e. Loblaws vs. Wal-Mart etc.)
Act as a mentor for new employees (i.e. grading standards)
Control conveyors
Identify any issues with the machines and communicate to Production Equipment Supervisor
Ensure good manufacturing practices are adhered to at all times
Adhere to the company’s production standard operating procedures
Immediately report any quality issues to Production Supervisor
Maintain safety awareness in the production areas
Follow and adhere to the company’s safety program at all times
Ensure all personal protective safety equipment is worn when specified by standard operating procedures
Report all unsafe working conditions to the production manager immediately
Other duties as assigned

OTHER:

High School Diploma
Relevant experience an asset

· Follow directions, standard instructions, make minor decisions and keep mind on task

· Intermittent standing, sitting, driving, walking, climbing, and stooping

· Lift up to 20kg (44lbs)

· Exposure to dust, dirt and grime

· Safe handling of chemicals and tools

· Follow all safety rules and regulations

· Be available to work hours needed including afternoon shift during peak season

· Treat everyone with respect

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.48-$23.10 per hour
