Full job description

Procurement Clerk

Newfound Mechanical Ltd. is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will support our procurement and project teams by assisting with purchasing, tracking orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring materials and equipment are available when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, communicates well, and enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the procurement of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies for various projects.
Process purchase orders and ensure orders are placed accurately and on time.
Obtain and compare supplier quotes, pricing, availability, and lead times.
Follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding orders, backorders, delivery dates, and discrepancies.
Track purchase orders from placement through to delivery.
Coordinate material deliveries with project teams, suppliers, and job sites.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, quotes, invoices, and delivery information.
Assist Project Managers, Coordinators, and Construction Managers with procurement-related requests.
Monitor material requirements and identify potential delays or shortages before they impact project schedules.
Communicate changes in pricing, availability, and lead times to the appropriate project team members.
Assist with resolving issues related to incorrect, damaged, or missing materials.
Maintain organized supplier and product information.
Ensure purchasing follows company procedures and approval requirements.
Assist with inventory and material tracking as required.
Perform general administrative duties related to procurement and purchasing.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, administration, or a similar role is considered an asset.
Experience in the construction or mechanical industry is an asset.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work within deadlines.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
Experience with purchasing or accounting software is considered an asset.
Ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues.
