About the Opportunity
Riverbend Resort, located in Parksville on beautiful Vancouver Island, is seeking a reliable, personable and hands-on Property Manager to oversee the resort’s daily operations.
We welcome applications from qualified individuals as well as couples interested in working together as an on-site resort management team. When a couple applies, responsibilities may be divided according to each applicant’s experience, abilities and interests.
This position includes on-site accommodation and is ideal for an organized self-starter—or compatible management team—who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and well-run property and is comfortable handling administrative, customer-service and practical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of Riverbend Resort
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional customer service
- Coordinate reservations, site assignments, arrivals and departures
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest and resident questions, concerns and complaints
- Collect site fees, rent, deposits and other payments
- Maintain accurate reservation, occupancy, payment and incident records
- Complete routine administrative duties, correspondence and recordkeeping
- Conduct regular inspections of RV sites, buildings, common areas and resort grounds
- Ensure the property remains clean, safe, attractive and properly maintained
- Coordinate landscaping, cleaning, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting when appropriate
- Hire, schedule, supervise and support seasonal and maintenance employees
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and outside service providers
- Monitor supplies and maintain operational inventory
- Communicate and enforce resort policies respectfully and consistently
- Assist with marketing, guest communications and occupancy management
- Respond to urgent maintenance matters and occasional after-hours situations
- Help ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, fire, environmental and local requirements
- Provide regular operational and financial reports to the owners
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property management, RV resort or campground management, hospitality, tourism, maintenance or a related field
- Strong customer-service and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent communication, organization and time-management abilities
- Comfortable using computers, email, reservation systems and payment or basic accounting software
- Able to work independently, take initiative and manage competing priorities
- Practical understanding of property maintenance and the ability to recognize repair needs
- Professional, dependable, approachable and capable of exercising sound judgment
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Available to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings as required
- Physically able to walk the resort property and perform light maintenance duties
Experience with RV systems, water or septic systems, landscaping, building maintenance, bookkeeping, office administration or campground operations would be considered an asset.
