Melt Mineral Spa offers a range of services including skincare treatments, relaxation massage, manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting and body treatments.
We are currently looking for an experienced Esthetician with strong Brazilian and body-waxing skills to join our team.
This is a multi-service Esthetician position. Brazilian waxing will be an important part of the role, but the successful candidate will also provide additional esthetic and spa services based on their training and experience.
The Role
We are looking for an Esthetician who is confident, efficient, professional, and highly skilled in waxing — particularly Brazilian waxing.
For intimate waxing services, technical ability is only one part of providing an excellent experience.
The right person knows how to make a potentially vulnerable service feel comfortable, professional, and completely routine for the guest.
You should be able to communicate clearly, maintain appropriate professional boundaries, work efficiently without making a guest feel rushed, and provide consistently excellent results.
Outside of waxing, you will also work as part of Melt's broader esthetics team and provide other services within your education and training.
What You'll Do
- Perform professional Brazilian waxing confidently, efficiently, and consistently
- Perform bikini, facial, and body waxing services
- Conduct appropriate consultations before waxing services
- Review medications, topical products, recent procedures, skin conditions, sensitivities, and other potential contraindications relevant to waxing
- Recognize when a waxing service should be modified, postponed, or declined
- Explain pre-care and aftercare recommendations clearly
- Maintain guest comfort, privacy, dignity, and professional boundaries throughout intimate services
- Maintain appropriate draping and positioning during services
- Provide additional esthetic and spa services according to your training and Melt's service menu
- Additional services may include facials, manicures, pedicures, tinting, body treatments, relaxation massage, and other Melt services where appropriately trained
- Conduct thorough consultations for all services
- Provide professional skincare, body-care, and home-care recommendations where appropriate
- Develop a strong understanding of Melt's products and services
- Assist guests in selecting appropriate products and future services without creating a high-pressure sales experience
- Build strong relationships with returning guests and actively develop your personal clientele
- Maintain accurate guest notes and treatment information where required
- Work closely with Guest Services regarding appointments, timing, guest requests, and booking information
- Set up and reset your treatment room between appointments
- Ensure your treatment space is properly stocked with wax, disposables, linens, products, tools, and other necessary supplies
- Monitor inventory and communicate shortages to Management
- Follow Melt's sanitation, infection-prevention, cleaning, and disinfection protocols
- Maintain excellent hygiene standards throughout all waxing and esthetic services
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of your treatment room and shared spa areas
- Complete services within their scheduled appointment times
- Assist with laundry, stocking, opening, closing, and general spa operations when required
- Respond professionally to guest concerns and involve Management when appropriate
- Participate in ongoing education and training
- Assist and support other team members as required
- Contribute to a professional, positive, and collaborative spa environment
Who You Are
You are an Esthetician who genuinely enjoys waxing and does not treat Brazilian waxing as the service you reluctantly perform because it happens to be on the menu.
You are confident in your technique and understand how to balance efficiency with guest comfort.
You know how to communicate professionally during intimate services and can easily put guests at ease without becoming overly casual or compromising professional boundaries.
You take sanitation seriously.
You notice details.
You stay on schedule.
You understand that repeat waxing clientele is built on trust, consistency, comfort, and results.
You also enjoy being a multi-service Esthetician and are comfortable moving between waxing and other spa treatments throughout your day.
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of an Esthetics, Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy, or comparable professional training program
- Professional training in waxing and hair-removal services
- Hands-on professional experience performing Brazilian waxing is required
- Confident providing Brazilian, bikini, facial, and body waxing
- Strong understanding of waxing contraindications, skin preparation, sanitation, and aftercare
- Excellent professional boundaries and communication skills
- Strong attention to guest privacy, dignity, and comfort
- Training in additional esthetic services such as facials, manicures, and pedicures
- Additional training in relaxation massage, tinting or other spa services is considered an asset
- At least one year of professional esthetics experience is considered an asset
- Strong customer-service and consultation skills
- Ability to complete services efficiently within scheduled appointment times
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Professional and respectful communication
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Open to learning Melt's products, treatments, protocols, and systems
- Weekend availability is required
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
