Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, and assist with administrative tasks within a busy medical or dental office. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with office software, and familiarity with medical and dental terminology. The Medical Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, creating a welcoming environment
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and other documentation
Support clinical staff by handling administrative tasks related to patient flow and record keeping
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and professional at all times
Perform general office duties including data entry, filing, and correspondence management

Qualifications

Prior experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant preferred
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix required
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental terminology is highly desirable
Experience with office software including Microsoft Office Suite is essential
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous office experience in healthcare settings is preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively

Pay: $17.38-$28.92 per hour
