NATURE ET CARACTÉRISTIQUES DE LA FONCTION

En tant que spécialiste d'entretien aéroportuaire saisonnier, vous serez appelé à effectuer diverses tâches sur le site afin de maintenir le champ d'aviation sécuritaire et conforme aux normes de Transports Canada.

Travaux comportant la conduite des véhicules motorisés suivants, ou tout autre de même catégorie : camion muni d'un chasse-neige et d'un balai de piste, camion épandeur d'abrasif, souffleuse à neige, tracteur, chargeur sur roues et/ou autres véhicules lourds ou spécialisés.

Le travail s'accomplit sous la surveillance du directeur des opérations. Le ou la spécialiste d'entretien aéroportuaire est principalement responsable de conduire prudemment le véhicule qui lui est confié et d'effectuer, dans les meilleurs délais et selon les règles d'usage, les diverses tâches qui peuvent lui être assignées. La personne veille au bon fonctionnement de son véhicule et en assure l'entretien mineur; elle doit également le maintenir dans un état de propreté satisfaisant, particulièrement en ce qui concerne la carrosserie, les vitres, les phares et les feux. Son travail est contrôlé soit au moyen de rapports ou de feuilles de route qu'elle ou il remplit, soit par les visites d'un employé ou d'une employée de rang supérieur.

EXEMPLES DE TÂCHES ACCOMPLIES

S'assure du bon état de son véhicule et effectue de menus travaux d'entretien; vérifie la batterie, le radiateur, les phares, les feux de signalisation, les freins, les pneus; rapporte toute défectuosité à son supérieur; fait ajouter de l'huile, au besoin, et fait le plein d'essence; lave le véhicule et veille à le maintenir propre.
Déblaie la chaussée de la neige qui l'obstrue sur l'aéroport.
Racle le pavé au moyen d'un camion et d'un balai d'aéroport afin de le dégager de la neige et de la glace qui s'y trouvent.
Applique des produits dégivrants sur les pistes et voies de circulation.
Peut être appelé à conduire d'autres types de véhicules lourds.

QUALITÉS REQUISES

Bonnes connaissances :

Habiletés :

À conduire les véhicules motorisés concernés de façon sécuritaire et responsable et à en tirer le maximum de rendement;
À maintenir les véhicules en bon état de propreté et de fonctionnement et à y faire les ajustements mineurs nécessaires;
À faire preuve de tact et de courtoisie; et
À faire preuve d'esprit d'équipe.

Posséder un permis de conduire valide (la classe 1 ou 3 est un atout majeur).

Expérience en déneigement requise.

ENGLISH VERSION

NATURE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION

As a seasonal airport maintenance specialist, you will be called upon to perform a variety of on-site duties in order to keep the airfield safe and compliant with Transport Canada standards.

Work involving the operation of the following motorized vehicles, or any other vehicle of the same category: truck equipped with a snowplow and runway broom, abrasive spreader truck, snowblower, tractor, wheel loader and/or other heavy or specialized vehicles.

The work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Operations. The airport maintenance specialist is primarily responsible for safely operating the vehicle assigned to them and for carrying out, promptly and in accordance with standard practices, the various duties that may be assigned to them. The incumbent ensures their vehicle is in good working order and performs minor maintenance on it; they must also keep it in a satisfactory state of cleanliness, particularly with respect to the body, windows, headlights and signal lights. Their work is monitored either through reports or logs they complete, or through visits from a senior employee.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED

Ensures their vehicle is in good condition and performs minor maintenance work; checks the battery, radiator, headlights, signal lights, brakes and tires; reports any defect to their supervisor; has oil added as needed and refuels the vehicle; washes the vehicle and keeps it clean.
Clears snow obstructing the runway at the airport.
Sweeps the pavement using a truck and an airport broom in order to clear it of snow and ice.
Applies de-icing products to runways and taxiways.
May be called upon to operate other types of heavy vehicles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Sound knowledge of:

The operation of the motorized vehicles involved, their functioning, their routine maintenance, their mechanisms, their capacity and their limitations; and
The safety and precautionary measures to be observed.

Abilities:

To operate the motorized vehicles involved safely and responsibly and to obtain optimal performance from them;
To keep the vehicles clean and in good working order and to make the minor adjustments required;
To demonstrate tact and courtesy; and
To demonstrate a team-oriented approach.

Must hold a valid driver's licence (Class 1 or 3 is a significant asset).

Experience in snow removal is required.

Rémunération : 33,94$ par heure
